I suppose this shows you that there are a lot of people out there looking for help on the topic, sometimes with marital problems you can feel very isolated.

Comment on How to Build a Well-Equipped Kitchen

Great Ideas DDFD! Or else I just don't get my hair wet on those days. That works well too. My hair doesn't get as dried out when following this schedule.

Comment on Do-Overs and Redirected Choices

We all have days like that.

Comment on The Engagement Ring . . .

As a recently married man (Dec 24th, 2010) The wife and I have a tremendous amount of appreciation for what our rings symbolize, but neither of us were concerned about the size of the stones or the precious metal content.

I strongly feel if one finds his- or herself in a relationship where one of the two is concentrating on the meaning behind the engagement ring, and the other is largely focused on the commercial value of it, then it may be time to re-think the future of that relationship. It sounds like, to me, that couple's value system may be at odds, which will inevitably bring unforeseen amounts of unnecessary conflict down the road.

I feel that, essentially, when a couple shares their thoughts and feelings about things like rings, proposals, wedding plans, savings, spending, debt, marriage, divorce, offspring, ect., both should be able to (at the very least) grasp the other's point of view. The couple's outlook with regard to these kinds of things should align to some degree or you better believe there's trouble coming their way in the future.

Comment on My Frugality Quiz

Last purchase? In the past two weeks, we've bought a value pack of underwear, a plunger to use for hand-washing clothes, and a new broom. We so spendy. :P

Car was paid, in cash, a decade ago. NEXT vehicle: bicycles.

I only got 24, but ... we live in a basement apartment. We're actively in the process of setting up a Community Garden for our neighbourhood, where I plan to grow potatoes, cucumbers and whatever else I can squeeze into 100 sq feet, so I'll give myself 3 points for that, putting me at 27.

We can't control our temperature, and city bylaw says our landlord must keep it above 69F. If we were paying our own utilities, we'd be doing Crunchy Chicken's Freeze Yer Buns challenge and would certainly be below 65F.

Comment on Words of Wisdom: Henry David Thoreau on Emotions

Thanks sir, for your tips on self sufficiency.

Comment on Self-Improvement Tip: Always Strive to be Neat and Clean

So true. I recently purchased a 99-song "album" for $1.99. The individual songs were priced at $.99 each, so buying all of them saved quite a bit of money. I may not want each individual song, ultimately, but there were certainly enough "keepers" to make the package price hugely worthwhile!
